When accessing Our Site your web browser or application will be required to connect via SSL(https://).  Currently, various browsers (including Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari) provide a way (usually in the URL bar) for you to confirm this security level of your connection to Our Site as well as display the status and details of the Certificate provided by the Certificate Authority who has issued the SSL Certification for Our Site.  Please refer to your browser for detailed information on how to view this information.

Firewalls

A Firewall is a network security system that monitors and controls incoming and outgoing network traffic based on predetermined security rules, designed to block unauthorized access while permitting outward communication.

Pete’s Pest employs multiple layers of both software and hardware firewalls to detect and prevent unauthorized intrusion to our Systems.

Anti-Malware and Anti-Virus

A computer virus is a type of malicious code or program written to alter the way a computer operates and is designed to spread from one system to another, able to infect and affect system performance, reliability and security.

Malware (short for “malicious software”) is a file or code, typically delivered over a network, that infects, explores, steals or conducts virtually any behavior an attacker wants. And because malware comes in so many variants, there are numerous methods to infect computer systems.

Pete’s Pest employs several versions of Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware softwares operating simultaneously specifically to help detect, prevent and/or remove viruses and malware.

We strive to take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or alteration of your personal information. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or any wireless network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while We strive to protect your personal information, you acknowledge that: (a) there are security and privacy limitations inherent to the Internet which are beyond Our control; and (b) security, integrity, and privacy of any and all information and data exchanged between you and Us through this Site cannot be guaranteed.

Pete’s Pest may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. In those cases, your unique personally identifiable information (e-mail, name, address, telephone number) is not transferred to the third party.

Pete’s Pest may share data with trusted partners to help perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these Services to Pete’s Pest, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.

Pete’s Pest may disclose your personal information, without notice, if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Pete’s Pest or the Site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Pete’s Pest; and/or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Pete’s Pest, or the public.

Additional Privacy Considerations

Be aware that voluntary disclosure of personal information in a public online area may result in the collection and use of this information by others. Likewise, the user assumes all risk for disclosure of personal information in publicly accessible areas on Our systems, understanding that any such disclosed information may be collected and used by others to send unsolicited messages, advertisements, or for other purposes. Removal of information from the Pete’s Pest Site does not ensure removal of all copies, caches and archives. Once information is made available on the Internet, there is no way to retract it from propagation. Pete’s Pest therefore strongly encourages Our users to exercise due caution when interacting with areas not governed by the privacy policies applicable to Pete’s Pest specific Sites, Systems, and Services.

Pete’s Pest expressly disclaims any warranty that personal information cannot be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any or all of Our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards; and likewise assumes no liability for unauthorized breach of Our safeguards by third parties or disclosure of data due to errors in transmission.
